The client wanted us to build a portal for their manufacturing process in the fashion industry, which would help them streamline and find the critical path to allocate orders to factories.
Challenge
The system had to be built from the perspective of each user who works on production, and we had to spend extra time getting the full requirements from each user. The system had to include features for creating styles and spec sheets and creating orders for factories and suppliers. It also had to handle post-production tasks such as photoshoots, retouching, and production pricing.
Solution
We built the portal to be accessible via desktop and mobile devices, and it includes all the necessary processes for creating styles, spec sheets, and orders. It also includes options to create orders for fabric and trimming, which are then notified to the relevant supplier. Once production is completed, post-production tasks such as photoshoots and retouching can be added through the system, and production prices can be set and published.
Impact
The web app has allowed users to track pending and completed tasks and take action accordingly easily. It has also been requested by other manufacturing companies for their production flow.
